�90-day Appeal Period for Flood Plain Hazard Mapping�

 The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation have been working on a project to develop new Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs) and accompanying Flood Insurance Study (FIS) Reports for the Black River along NYS Route 3. Property owners have an opportunity to review the Preliminary flood maps that have been prepared and to provide objections (appeals) or comments. The maps can be viewed at the Town Office during normal business hours or by clicking on the link below.  Please contact the Flood Administrator at the Town Office at (315) 629-4052 for specific information on how to submit an objection or comment to FEMA.

 NYS DEC will be holding an informational session on the new mapping to discuss how the changes may affect property owners.  The meeting will be held on December 13, 2012 from 4:00 pm � 6:30 pm at the Black River Village Offices, 107 Jefferson Place, Black River, New York.
